Policies & Procedures

Deposits & Fees

All room rentals require a room deposit. Deposits will be 50% or 100% of the total room rental fee, and will be required at the time of signing the lease agreement. Additionally, all room rentals require a refundable cleaning/damage deposit that is due 10 days prior to the event. Cleaning/damage deposits are as follows:

 


  • Lg. Banquet Hall G108: $250
  • Sm. Banquet Hall G126: $100
  • Event Space B111: $75
  • Event Space B102: $100
  • Clement's Auditorium: $188
  • Performing Arts Theater: $250


 

Alcohol

The Killeen Arts & Activities Center can provide alcohol & bar services for your event. However, no outside alcohol may be brought into the building. Two bar options are offered. A host bar is $300 plus a $50 gratuity, where the client would pay up front and guests would be offered drinks for free until the $300 is used up. A cash bar requires no payment up front, and guests would pay for their own drinks throughout the event. However, if $300 in drinks is not purchased by the end of the scheduled bar time, the client would owe the bar the difference. No mandatory gratuity is added for a cash bar.

Security

Some events may require security, including but not limited to:

  • Events where alcohol is served
  • Events considered "high risk"
  • Events that have a history of guests with behavioral conflicts
  • Events honoring a minor

We may contract security at an additional cost. All security must be licensed. All events with over 200 occupants is considered high risk.

Insurance

All theater events are required to obtain one-day liability insurance. Please contact us for more details.

Decoration Guidelines

Any decorations used by the client may not cause any damage to the building. If any of our decoration guidelines are violated, all or part of the cleaning deposit will be forfeited. Below is a list of prohibited decorative items:

 


  • Thumb Tacks
  • Command Strips
  • Nails
  • Teachers Putty
  • Any form of tape (excluding painters tape)
  • Rice
  • Birdseed
  • Confetti
  • Fog/Vapor/Mist Machines
  • Smoke Bombs
  • Straw
  • Hay
  • Silly String
  • Artificial Snow
  • Helium Balloons (only prohibited in the chapel & theatre)
  • Exposed Flames
  • Bounce Houses
  • Loose Glitter

Food & Beverage

The Killeen Arts & Activities Center does not charge any fees for catering. Clients are permitted to provide any food of their choosing for their events. Clients may also provide any non-alcoholic beverages.

All food that is brought in by clients must be ready to serve or kept warm in appropriate self heating serving containers. If food is to be prepared and cooked on site, then kitchen must be booked as well. No propane tanks, portable generators, portable table top grills, open flames, or roasting ovens may be used indoors. Crock pots are permitted, but are limited to two per room.There is limited usage of kitchen facilities during weekdays.
